Test automation and a Python reverse-proxy microservice for an edge computing system with cloud connectivity.
Context
Sinumerik Edge is an edge computing system with cloud connectivity. Its critical services had to stay highly available.
What I did
- Built test automation to safeguard the high availability of critical services.
- Developed a proof of concept for integration test automation, adapting quickly to a Linux and Python environment.
- Developed a Python-based reverse-proxy microservice using WebSockets and integrated it into the existing architecture.
Outcome
- More flexibility and development speed for the team.
- Helped the team adopt Python more widely.
